    El vértigo periférico es un tipo de mareo que se percibe por el paciente como la ilusión de estar en movimiento rotacional. Es producido por una lesión en el oído interno y en ocasiones está acompañado por problemas cocleares como los acúfenos, que son la sensación auditiva anormal de pitidos continuos percibidos sólo por el paciente. Estos provocan cuadros de ansiedad variable en las personas que lo sufren. El diagnóstico requiere una exploración instrumental sofisticada y el objetivo principal del tratamiento será la disminución del estado de ansiedad del paciente.

    Peripheral vertigo is a type of dizziness that is perceived by the patient as the illusion of being in rotational movement. It is caused by an injury to the inner ear and is sometimes accompanied by cochlear problems such as tinnitus, which is the abnormal hearing sensation of continuous beeping perceived only by the patient. These cause pictures of variable anxiety in people who suffer from it. The diagnosis requires a sophisticated instrumental examination and the main goal of treatment will be to decrease the patient’s state of anxiety.
