Se evaluó efectividad de protracción maxilar con máscara facial previa expansión palatina, en pacientes fisurados o no fisurados, Clase III esquelética por retrusión maxilar, en relación con norma ecuatoriana- UNIVERSO: 81 H. C. FUNARMAF, muestreo de oportunidad mediante análisis cefalométrico: 21 H.C. pacientes fisurados (26%), (15m, 6f ), edad promedio:12ª 11ms, y 7 H.C. no fisurados (9%), (3m,4f) edad promedio: 11ª, constituyen 35% del universo, dentición temporaria, mixta y permanente joven. 19 medidas angulares y 12 medidas lineales fueron comparadas pre – postratamiento; postratamiento - norma promedio ecuatoriana (9m, 21f), Clase I esqueletal y dental, edad promedio 16ª2ms. Tiempo promedio tratamiento 16ms fisurados; 20ms no fisurados; . Prueba estadística: t Test de pares. Tratamiento desarrolla tendencia significativa de crecimiento horario (p.< 0,05 ) con severa rotación mandibular, aumento de altura maxilar y altura facial inferior superando norma promedio, tipo facial dólico severo, más acentuado en fisurados, adelantamiento del maxilar superior y relación normal intermaxilar; mejora protrusión e inclinación incisiva superior e inferior, sobresaliencia y sobre mordida sin llegar norma en grupo de fisurados; diferencia poco significativa con la norma en grupo no fisurados, a excepción de retroclinación incisiva inferior. Labio inferior sobrepasa norma significativamente en grupo fisurados, afectando perfil facial.

Lower lip exceeds standard significantlyinfissuredgroup,affectingfacialprofile.
