La arquitectura de los años 20 del siglo XX, un siglo ha pasado, es una fuente inagotable de sugerencias. En este artículo mostraremos la fuerza creadora, el innumerable flujo de ideas, la multiplicidad de caminos iniciados, la apertura conceptual, un sinfín de manifiestos y movimientos artísticos que, entre dos guerras mundiales, y con enfermedades pandémicas, surgieron y que en cierto modo están latentes un siglo después. La industrialización incipiente será uno de los instrumentos fundamentales de la arquitectura. En cierto modo, con una industria ingenua, los maestros visionarios anticiparon conceptos que hoy comenzamos a desarrollar.
Estará presenta el eterno debate entre el acto individual y el espíritu de la época. Haremos uso del método comparativo, entre autores y entre obras, para poder poner de manifiesto esta tempestad de ideas. Usaremos la visita a la obra como fuente original, el viaje del arquitecto, apoyado en los historiadores clásicos de arquitectura, principalmente Kenneth Frampton, como autor de gran longevidad hoy presente. A modo de conclusión abierta quedará la duda de cómo las generaciones contemporáneas interpretan la herencia recibida, poniendo en cuestión la idea de norma.

Th e architecture of the 20s of the twentieth century, a century has passed, is an inexhaustible source of suggestions. In this article we will show the creative force, the innumerable fl ow of ideas, the multiplicity of paths initiated, the conceptual openness, an endless number of manifestos and artistic movements that, between two world wars, and with pandemic diseases, arose and that in a certain way are latent a century later. Th e incipient industrialization will be one of the fundamental instruments of architecture. In a way, with a naive industry, visionary teachers anticipated concepts that we are beginning to develop today. Stand the eternal debate between the individual act and the spirit of the time. We will use the comparative method, between authors and between works, in order to reveal this storm of ideas. We will use the visit to the work as an original source, the journey of the architect, supported by classical architectural historians, mainly Kenneth Frampton, as an author of great longevity today. As an open conclusion, there will remain the question of how contemporary generations interpret the inheritance received, putting into question the idea of norm.
