  • Resumen
    • adaptive behavioural and affective outcomes. One of the most widely employed instrument to assessthese body-related emotions is the Body and Appearance Self-Conscious Emotions Scale. Despiteprevious research has supported the construct/convergent validity and reliability of the Spanish versionof the BASES, the temporal stability of this translated version of the instrument has not yet beenexamined. This study aimed to investigate the temporal stability of the Spanish version of the BASES.Methods: The sample consisted of 58 students (79.3% females, 100% white) with a mean age of 23.48years (SD = 5.44, range = 21-50) and a body mass index (BMI) of 23.18 kg/m2 (SD = 4.27, range =17.21-35.42). Participants completed the Spanish adaptation of the BASES twice within a two-weekperiod. To test temporal stability, intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) with its 95% confidenceinterval (CI) specifying a two-way random effect model with absolute agreement were obtained usingSPSS v.24.Results: ICC values of .87 (IC95% = .78, .92) for guilt, .83 (IC95% = .72, .90) for shame, .84 (IC95%= .73, .90) for authentic pride and .88 (IC95% = .80, .93) for hubristic pride were obtained. Conclusions: Lined with the findings of the original validation study for the BASES. These findingssupport the temporal stability the Spanish version of the BASES on a short-term basis. Future studiesshould investigate the temporal stability of the Spanish version of the BASES considering longerframe times.
