Resumen de Espejos de virtud: los santos fundadores de la Sacristía de San Pedro en Lima

El artículo analiza los retratos de Santos Fundadores en la sacristía del Colegio Máximo de San Pablo de la Compañía de Jesús, hoy iglesia San Pedro de Lima, una sacristía de mayor importancia en la historia visual del Perú virreinal. Un primer propósito de la investigación es explorar las relaciones entre la serie y sus fuentes grabadas europeas. Un segundo propósito es una lectura teológica y holística de los lienzos en relación al espacio de la sacristía jesuita en la Lima de los años 1660-1680.

The article analyzes the portraits of Holy Founders in the sacristy of the Colegio Maximo de San Pablo of the Society of Jesus, now San Pedro church, in Lima, a sacristy of major importance in the visual history of viceroyal Peru. A first purpose of this research is to explore the relationships between the series and its European engraved sources. A second purpose is a theological and holistic interpretation of the canvases in the context of the whole space of the Jesuit sacristy in the Lima of the years 1660-1680.
