Resumen de "Inolvidables jornadas vivió Mar del Plata": Perón junto a las estrellas

Clara Kriger

  • The First International Film Festival of Mar del Plata was held in March, 1954, with President Perón on center stage. This beach resort on the Atlantic, which had ceased to be a favorite summer holiday haunt for the jet set in the early 1940s, was now to be a meeting place for film stars and politicians. An ideal setting for mixing show business and politics, it was chosen with a view to obtaining optimum yields for both. The famous resort thus provided an ideal geographical background and opportunity for the political leader to show off his well-known charisma to masses of followers while mingling with the glamour of visiting abstract film stars.
