    Frequently viewed through increasinglens, the so-called “Estado Novo” — based on its many commentators — seemsto have succeeded in its attempt at givingits own shape to the Brazilian society.Contrary to this view, this paper followsthe way of the popular music written inBrazil at the time and searches to pick upvoices inconsistent with the official ones,especially in the gender relationships domain.
