Resumen de El paisaje de Andalucía percibido por viajeras británicas en el siglo XIX

  Durante el siglo XIX y principios del XX, los británicos viajaron al exterior del Reino Unido para establecer no sólo relaciones comerciales con otros países, sino también para realizar expediciones, unas veces con fines arqueológicos, otras educativas y otras simplemente por ocio. Pero a pesar de que en la sociedad británica prácticamente todas las funciones recaían en esos tiempos sobre la figura masculina, numerosas mujeres decidieron viajar solas o acompañadas de otras mujeres o esposos por España y más concretamente por Andalucía. Nuestro interés se centra en mostrar distintas descripciones sobre el Paisaje de Andalucía. Creemos que esta visión analizada desde nuestra disciplina, el urbanismo, supone una aportación muy valiosa para el conocimiento de la Andalucía del siglo XIX y que necesariamente debemos difundir.

  During the nineteenth century and at the beginning of the twentieth, the British traveled abroad of the United Kingdom to establish not only commercial relations with other countries, but also in order to make expeditions, sometimes for archaeological purposes, other educational and other just for leisure. But, although in the British society practically all the functions fell on the male figure in those times, many women decided to travel alone or accompanied by other women or their husbands to Spain and more specifically around Andalusia. Our interest is focused on showing several descriptions made about the Andalusian Landscape. We believe that this vision, analyzed from our discipline, the urbanism, supposes a very valuable contribution to the knowledge of Andalusia of the nineteenth century and that we must necessarily disseminate.
