    La Parálisis Cerebral es la afección neurológica con causa de discapacidad física más común en la población infantil. Pueden originarse complicaciones entre las que se encuentran la espasticidad, dificultad para la comunicación, problemas gastrointestinales, entre otras. Su diagnóstico es principalmente clínico y desde la fisioterapia se utiliza el GMFCS para valorar la gravedad del paciente. Es primordial establecer objetivos atendiendo al contexto y a las necesidades individuales de cada paciente, sin olvidar sus preferencias y las de su familia. Algunas de las intervenciones actuales que cuentan con evidencia científica son el entrenamiento de la marcha en tapiz rodante y la terapia bimanual. Incluso autores señalan la realidad virtual como terapia para aumentar la motivación en los niños.

    Cerebral Palsy is the neurological condition with a cause of physical disability most common in children. Complications may arise, including spasticity, communication difficulties, gastrointestinal problems, among others. Its diagnosis is mainly clinical and from physiotherapy the GMFCS is used to assess the severity of the patient. It is essential to establish objectives according to the context and individual needs of each patient, without forgetting their preferences and those of their family. Some of the current interventions with scientific evidence are treadmill gait training and bimanual therapy. Even author’s point to virtual reality as a therapy to increase motivation in children.
