    En el presente estudio se analizará el rol cumplido por el teatro histórico dentro del proceso de construcción de la nación en el Perú en los años previos y durante la celebración del centenario de la independencia, en 1921. El estudio se llevó a cabo a través del caso específico del impacto y derrotero de la ópera Ollanta: escrita durante la ocupación chilena en Lima, a fines del siglo XIX, estrenada en el año 1900 con un resultado modesto, sin mayores auspicios y sin apoyo oficial, pero reestrenada en 1920 y 1921 con gran éxito contando, además, con el apoyo e instrumentalización del Estado Leguiista. Nuestro estudio se ha centrado en los sucesos de la ciudad de Lima, entendiéndola como parte de un contexto de tránsito hacia un momento cualitativamente diferente en el proceso de construcción del Estado-nación: de la Republica Aristocrática a los inicios del régimen Leguiista.

    This study will analyze the role played by the historical theater within the process of construction of the Nation in Peru in the previous years and during the celebration of the centennial of independence, in 1921. The study was carried out through the specific case of the impact and course of the opera Ollanta: written during the Chilean occupation of Lima, at the end of the 19th century, premiered in 1900 with a modest result, without major auspices and without official support, but which was re-released in 1920 and 1921 with great success, counting, in addition, with the support and instrumentalization of the legal state. Our study has focused on the events of the city of Lima, understanding it as part of a context of transit towards a qualitatively different moment in the process of construction of the nation-state: from the Aristocratic Republic to the beginning of the legal regime.
