En sus primeros escritos fenomenológicos Jean Paul Sartre sostiene la tesis de que la conciencia es exterioridad pura, es decir, no existe interioridad en la conciencia que pudiese albergar instancias metafísicas, como lo podría ser el Yo, el Cogito, el Inconsciente etc. Ya para El Ser y la Nada, el filósofo francés mantendrá dicha tesis, profundizándola y estableciendo un dialogo con su teoría del Ser. En esta medida, el siguiente artículo se propone explorar tal relación, para así conocer el lugar que ocupa la noción de conciencia en el Ser y la Nada.

In his first phenomenological writings Jean Paul Sartre supports the thesis that consciousness is pure exteriority, that is, within it there is no metaphysical instance, such as the it-self, the Cogito, the Unconscious etc. For the being and nothingness the French philosopher will maintain this thesis, deepening it and establishing a dialogue with his theory of Being. In this measure, the following article intends to explore such a relationship, in order to know the place occupied by the notion of consciousness in being and nothingness.
