  • In this paper, I will examine the relationships between architectural work and mathematical modelling. My purpose is twofold. Firstly, I will show and discuss some historical examples of connections between architectural design and use (sometimes unconscious) of mathematical models. I will then make some remarks on how mathematical modelling is instrumental in today’s architectural work, providing startling new solutions to old problems.
