The detections of Gravitational Waves from coalescing binaries represent a landmark in physics, they startedthe new science of gravitational wave astronomy and opened new lines of research in fundamental physics andcosmolgy. Here we expose the consequences of this new way to look at, or rather listen to, astrophysical objectsfor the understanding of the fundamental gravitational laws ane the history of the Universe.

As detecções de ondas gravitacionais geradas de sistemas binários coalescentes deixaram um marco na física, começando a nova ciência da astronomia de ondas gravitacionais e abrindo novas linhas de pesquisa em física fundamental e cosmologia. Aqui expomos as consequências dessa nova forma de enxergar, ou ouvir, objetos astrofísicos para a compreensão das leis fundamentais da gravitação e da história do Universo.
