Resumen de Plutão e as descobertas da sonda New Horizons

  Com o objetivo de avançar nos estudos referentes aos corpos celestes mais distantes do planeta Terra, a sonda New Horizons foi lançada pela NASA em 19 de janeiro de 2006. A missão não tripulada teve como destino o Cinturão de Kuiper, região longínqua do Sistema Solar que abriga o Planeta-anão Plutão.  Nossa pesquisa procurou informações a respeito da sonda New Horizons, entre elas destacam-se quais foram suas prioridades de pesquisa e possíveis benefícios para a astronomia, com o principal intuito de participar da IV Mostra de Astronomia do Espírito Santo e apresentar aos estudantes de nossa escola.  Ademais aplica-se também para o público em geral, que não possui contato com astronomia. Neste artigo discutimos quais foram os dados coletados pela sonda durante a passagem por Plutão, além de retomar alguns conceitos e teorias da astronomia e apresentar algumas perspectivas futuras.

  With the objective of advancing in the studies referring to the most distant celestial bodies from planet Earth,the New Horizons probe was launched by NASA on January 19, 2006. The unmanned mission was destinedto the Kuiper Belt, a remote region of the Solar System that home to the dwarf planet Pluto. Our researchsought informations about the New Horizons spacecraft, among which were its research priorities and possiblebenefits for astronomy, with the main objective of participating in the IV Astronomy Exhibition of EspíritoSanto and presenting to the students of our school . In addition, it also applies to the general public, who haveno contact with astronomy. In this article, we discuss the data collected by the probe during its passage byPluto, in addition to resuming some astronomy concepts and theories and presenting some future perspectives.
