Resumen de As ideias em debate no Primeiro Congresso Brasileiro de Teatro (1951)

The objective of this paper is to analyse the organization and the debates of the First Brazilian Congress of Theatre, which oc-curred between the 9th and 13th of July in 1951 at Rio de Janeiro. Considering that the Congress represented an attempt of intellectuals and artists to answer several questions that were discussed in the thea-trical landscape at that moment, we intend to highlight the main discussions and proposals for solving the problems faced by the theatrical scene at the time.

Este artigo tem o objetivo de analisar a organização e os debates realizados no Primeiro congresso Brasileiro de tea-tro, que ocorreu entre os dias 9 e 13 de julho de 1951 no rio de Janeiro. consi-derando que a realização do congresso representou uma tentativa de artistas e intelectuais em fornecer respostas às diversas questões que se apresentavam no panorama teatral daquele momen-to, pretende-se destacar os principais temas discutidos e as propostas para a solução dos problemas enfrentados pelo setor.
