Este texto procura refletir sobre a articulação entre cinema e literatura. Para isso, parte do filme Rashomon (1951), no qual Akira Kurosawa co-locou em diálogo os contos “Dentro do bosque” (1921) e “rashomon” (1915), de ryunosuke Akutagawa – inspirados, por sua vez, em duas breves narrativas do século XII, “Sobre o ladrão que vê cadáveres no portal raseimon”e “Do homem que acompanhava a mulher para a terra de tanba e foi amarrado na mata de ooe”, compilados sob o título de Konjaku Monogatarishu.
This paper aims at connecting cinema and literature, following the social-history perspective. In order to achieve this goal, the paper analyzes the movie Rashomon (1951), in which Akira Kurosawa proposes a dialogue between the short stories “In a groove” (1921) and “Rashomon” (1915), written by Ryu-nosuke Akutagawa, who found inspiration in the short stories, “The tale of a thief who ascended to the upper floor of Rajomon Gate” and saw a corpse and “The tale of the man who was escorting his wife to Tanba and was tied up in the woods of Ooe”, both compiled in the 12th century collection of tales entitled Konjaku Monogatarishu.
