En aquest article es planteja l'estudi del Sexenni Absolutista a Catalunya a partir de la correspondència d'una de les companyies de comerç més importants del moment: la Companyia de Cortadellas. D'aquesta forma es pretén fer una aproximació a com va viure aquesta elit comercial el context de crisi global que va determinar aquest període i que en el cas de Catalunya es va veure agreujat per les pròpies mancances de la monarquia hispànica i la pèrdua del mercat colonial. Tanmateix, a l'article també s'hi tracta la resistència pagesa al pagament dels drets senyorials, les seves manifestacions i el seu impacte en l'estructura del món agrari i del règim senyorial.

This article looks at the period of absolutist rule from 1814 to 1820 in Catalonia through the correspondence of one of the most important trading companies of the time, that of Cortadel-las. In this way, not only do we gain an insight into how a business such as this managed to live through the global crisis of the period, which, in the case of Catalonia, was aggravated by the shortcomings of the Hispanic monarchy and the loss of the colonial market. We can also observe the growth of peasant resistance against feudal dues, the forms it adopted and the impact it had on the structure of the agricul-tura! world and the seigniorial regime
