  Esta comunicación sobre la historia del Archivo y la documentación generada por Correos y Telégrafos a lo largo de sus tres siglos de existencia, es una aproximación que en un futuro se convertirá en una investigación de mayor alcance. Se pretende, por una parte, dar a conocer la importancia que se ha dado a la documentación en cada época. Por otra parte, orientar someramente sobre la documentación dispersa en los archivos nacionales y extranjeros. Finalmente, exponer las líneas de actuación en torno a la creación de un archivo histórico que ponga al servicio de la investigación la documentación recuperada.

  This communication on the history of the Archive and the documentation generated by Correos y Telégrafos throughout its three centuries of existence is an approximation that in the future will become an investigation of further reach. The aims are, on the one hand, to make known the importance that the documentation has had in each period. On the other hand, briefly orientate on the documents scattered around national and international archives.

  Finally, to put forward the guidelines on creating a historical archive that will put the documentation retrieved at the service of investigation.
