Durante mis más de treinta años de trabajo en la educación formal como maestro de educación básica y profesor de bachillerato y de universidad; y en la educación no formal, como facilitador de talleres y director de teatro comunitario, he enseñado el arte teatral como disciplina y también he utilizado el teatro como medio, como estrategia y como herramienta. Estos cursos han sido teóricos, prácticos y también combinados. Desde el comienzo tuve la sensación de que tenía en mis manos una vital herramienta de gran poder que influye de forma profunda en los alumnos, participantes y el público. Mi deseo de comprender y hacer más efectivo mi trabajo me ha llevado a la reflexión y la práctica del desarrollo de la creatividad como el recurso más preciado del hombre y de la sociedad. Es desde esta perspectiva, desde la experiencia, que intentaré describir el campo del Teatro en la Educación o Pedagogía Teatral.

During my more than 30 years of work in the formal education as teacher of basic education and secondary education and University Professor; and in non-formal education, as facilitator of workshops and director of Community Theatre, I have taught theatrical art as a discipline and I also used the theatre as a medium, as a strategy and as a tool. These courses have been theoretical, practical and also combined. From the beginning, I had the sensation that I had in my hands a vital tool of great power that influences deeply in students, participants and public. My desire to understand and make more effective my work has led me to the reflection and practice of the development of creativity as the most precious resource of man and society. It is this perspective, from experience, that I will try to describe the field of theatre in education and theatrical pedagogy.
