En l’apèndix documental d’aquest article donem transcrit íntegrament un interrogatori de l’any 1620, compost de vint-i-quatre preguntes, sobre la puresa de sang del llinatge Major de Cervera. Les respostes que hi donen els vuit declarants aporten abundant informació sobre diversos aspectes de la societat catalana de l’edat mitjana. Amb tot, només comentem els aspectes que tenen relació amb la comunitat jueva de la població, que són la ubicació dels dos calls existents, les dues sinagogues, els llibres notarials que contenien documents atorgats per jueus, l’expulsió de la vila d’aquells jueus que no es convertiren al cristianisme, els llibres municipals relacionats amb els jueus i l’ingrés al Coŀlegi Notarial de Cervera.

The appendix to this article contains a full transcription of a 24-question inquiry, conducted in the year 1620, into the purity of blood of the lineage of the Major family of Cervera. While the responses of the eight declarants provide a wealth of information on different aspects of Catalan society in the Middle Ages, the article discusses only those related to the town’s Jewish community, specifically the location of the two Jewish quarters, the two synagogues, the notaries’ books containing documents issued by Jews, the expulsion from Cervera of Jews who did not convert to Christianity, municipal books related to Jews, and admission to the Guild of Notaries of Cervera.
