  La epidermólisis bullosa es una enfermedad genética que produce una alteración de diferentes proteínas que conforman las capas de la piel, volviéndola frágil y provocando la aparición de ampollas ante una mínima fricción e incluso de manera espontánea. Según a que capa de la piel afecta se distinguen cuatro tipos: EB simple, EB distrófica, EB Juntural y Síndrome de Kindler. Actualmente es una enfermedad incurable, en la que el tratamiento va encaminado a prevenir la aparición de nuevas lesiones y proteger y curar aquellas que ya están presentes. El abordaje debe ser multidisciplinar. El papel de enfermería en el cuidado de los niños con esta patología es fundamental desde que nacen, en las unidades neonatales, hasta que van creciendo, enseñando a los padres y siendo una profesional de referencia en los centros de salud.

  Epidermolysis bullosa is a genetic disease that produces an alteration of different proteins that form the skin layers, making it fragile and causing the appearance of blisters with minimal friction and even spontaneously. Depending on which layer of the skin is affected, four types are distinguished: Simple EB, Dystrophic EB, Junctional EB and Kindler Syndrome. It is currently an incurable disease, in which treatment is aimed at preventing the appearance of new lesions and protecting and curing those that are already present. The approach must be multidisciplinary. The role of Nursing in the care of children with this pathology is fundamental from birth, in neonatal units, until they grow up, teaching parents and being a reference professional in health centers.
