El corpus literario sudcaliforniano del siglo XX adolece de libros que no fueron resguardados adecuada ni oportunamente y, por ende, no alcanzaron a penetrar en el imaginario colectivo ni a figurar en los estudios críticos. La obra de muchos autores permaneció dispersa en publicaciones periódicas; la de otros, aunque se afianzó en la figura de un libro, con el tiempo se perdió por el descuido institucional o por fenómenos naturales. Las producciones de poetas y narradores no llegaron al público lector en forma amplia ni se fomentaron las reediciones. A la fecha, el trabajo editorial encabezada por el Instituto Sudcaliforniano de Cultura y la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur tiene un auge notable; esta labor patrocinó la publicación y difusión de la obra literaria, incluso, propició el rescate de algunos autores. Dentro de esa tarea de promoción de las letras, destacan esfuerzos de recuperación de escritores representativos; sin embargo, el legado patrimonial tangible e intangible conformado por libros y autores vigesémicos carece de un programa institucional de rescate eficaz.

The “sudcaliforniano” literary corpus of the 20th century lacks a variety of books that were carelessly stored neither throughout the ensuing years, and for that reason, they could not penetrate the collective consciousness, and so were not considered in critical studies. The work of some authors remained scattered in various periodical publications; in other cases, they appeared in book form, through over time they got lost due to institutional negligence or natural phenomena. The books of poets and narrators did not reach the public extensively enough, nor were re-editions encouraged. Actually, the editorial effort guided by the Instituto Sudcaliforniano de Cultura and the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur, had a notorious growth; this editorial work sponsored the publication and circulation of the literary corpus. Among this task of promoting literature, there are noble efforts of rescuing representative authors; however the tangible and intangible patrimonial legacy conformed by books and authors of the 20th century is still missing an institutional program of efficient rescue efforts.
