In the wake of Walter Benjamin and Jacques Derrida, who left as the legacy of translation as a possibility for the survival of the literary work, the brothers Haroldo and Augusto de Campos developed a theory and ‘practiced’ translation in the sense of perpetuating literary text, transforming it according to paradigms no longer Eurocentring, using and ‘absorbing’ the literature of ‘others’ according to a more comprehensive conception from the cultural point of view and the materiality of the work of art.In particular, Augusto de Campos, in his scattered essays formalized in prologues, prefaces and introductions and in his own translation, provides concepts and translations that indicate a path that reinforces tradition through literary criticism ‘via translation’. Thus, our analysis proposes the reflection on the dispersed theory, the translation and part of the poetic work of Augusto de Campos, inspired by the literary tradition. The purpose of this study is based on the hypothesis that from the erudite and popular tradition in poetry and its translation as ‘translingual adventure’ and ‘risk’ may develop a translation tradition according to the presupposition of creativity and recovery of the ‘old’ as a condition for the affirmation of the ‘new’.
