    A pesar de que el intercambio epistolar entre Leibniz y Huygens incluye discusiones sobre mecánica estudiadas en la literatura científica, no encontramos en ningún lugar una exposición de los temas tratados en dicha correspondencia. Este trabajo intenta solventar esta carencia, con la finalidad de mostrar la evolución de las ideas mecánicas de ambas figuras (la causa de la gravedad o la redondez de las gotas de agua, entre otros), la interdependencia de estas cuestiones y su deriva a otras no menos importantes, como por ejemplo el origen de la guerra del cálculo y el pensamiento especulativo de Huygens.

    Although the epistolary exchange between Leibniz and Huygens includes discussions on mechanics studied in the scientific literature, we do not find an exposition of the topics discussed in this correspondence. This work tries to solve this gap by showing the evolution of the mechanical ideas of Leibniz and Huygens (the cause of gravity or the roundness of water drops, among others), the interdependence of these questions and their drift to other essential issues, as the origin of the calculus war and the speculative thought of Huygens.
