Resumen de Battlefield tourism: the potential of Badr, Uhud and the Trench (Khandaq) battles for Islamic tourism
This chapter discusses the role of battlefield tourism within the context of Islamic tourism. Drawing insights from dark and heritage tourism literature, the chapter discusses why people are interested in visiting historical sites associated with famous battles. It then introduces three key battles in Saudi Arabia that have very high significance within the religion of Islam. The chapter finally discusses implications for Islamic tourism.
