  El reciente reconocimiento del derecho al medio ambiente como derecho fundamental hecho por el Relator Especial de las Naciones Unidas sobre los derechos humanos y el medioambiente denominado: "Principios marco sobre los derechos humanos y el medio ambiente", marca un hito para la comprensión de las obligaciones sobre derechos humanos orientadas a la protección del medio ambiente derivadas de los tratados que integran el DIDH y que actualmente vinculan al Estado Colombiano. Este artículo pretende analizar cuál es el alcance de la responsabilidad social empresarial como estrategia de protección al medio ambiente en cumplimiento de los objetivos del desarrollo sostenible.
