  Los movimientos de población desde los territorios de la Monarquía Hispánica hacia las Indias Occidentales constituyeron un fenómeno que estuvo presente durante los siglos modernos. En este trabajo, desde una perspectiva de la historiografía local, se pretende profundizar en las circunstancias que llevaron a emigrar a los naturales de la villa de Olivares (Sevilla) a las Indias, con objeto de trazar un perfil sociológico de aquellos que cruzaron el atlántico entre los siglos XVI, XVII y XVIII.

  Population movements from the territories of the Hispanic monarchy to the West Indies were a phenomenon that was present during the modern centuries. From a local historiographic perspective, we intend to delve into the circumstances which led to the migration of the natives of the town of Olivares (Seville) to the Indies. This research aims to draw a sociological profile of those who crossed the Atlantic between the sixteenth, seventeenth, and eighteenth centuries.
