La Evaluación de Impacto Ambiental es una herramienta preventiva que permite armonizar el desarrollo económico, social y ambiental propiciado por la ejecución de proyectos. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue evaluar la significancia de los impactos ambientales generados por la explotación de rocas en la cantera San Luis de Alba (Puno, Perú), mediante la metodología de Criterios Relevantes Integrados (CRI). Según los resultados obtenidos, los componentes fauna y flora terrestre obtuvieron índices de impacto total igual a -36.16 y -27.94, respectivamente, los componentes físicos suelos y topografía registraron impactos negativos, en el mismo orden, con índices de -23.29 y -23.26; mientras que, en el caso de los componentes socioeconómicos, el componente generación de empleo registró un índice positivo igual a 25.18. Se concluye que la explotación de la cantera de roca San Luis de Alba genera impactos negativos significativos que deben ser minimizados o mitigados.

The Environmental Impact Assessment is a preventive tool that allows harmonizing the economic, social and environmental development promoted by the execution of projects. The objective of this research was to evaluate the significance of the environmental impacts generated by the exploitation of rocks in the San Luis de Alba quarry (Puno, Peru), using the Integrated Relevant Criteria (CRI) methodology. According to the results obtained, the terrestrial fauna and flora components obtained total impact indices equal to -36.16 and -27.94, respectively, the physical components soils and topography registered negative impacts, in the same order, with indices of -23.29 and -23.26; while, in the case of the socioeconomic components, the employment generation component registered a positive index equal to 25.18. It is concluded that the exploitation of the San Luis de Alba rock quarry generates significant negative impacts that must be minimized or mitigated.
