A new video coding standard, HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding), has been recentlydeveloped. In this paper we will analyze its performanceand how it behaves under packet loss conditions, which is a typical scenario for multimedia transmissionover wireless networks. We have modified thereference software in order to make it resistant to dataloss and we have measured the impact of these lossesat different coding settings. For the sake of comparabilitywe have used the Common Conditions which areoftenly used in the developement process to measurethe improvements that new contributions produce inthe standard.
