  • Resumen
    • Leakage power consumption is a componentof the total power consumption in data centersthat is not traditionally considered in the setpointtemperature of the room. However, the effectof this power component, increased with temperature, can determine the savings associated with the carefulmanagement of the cooling system, as well as the reliabilityof the system. The work presented in thispaper detects the need of addressing leakage powerin order to achieve substantial savings in the energyconsumption of servers. In particular, our work showsthat, by a careful detection and management of twoworking regions (low and high impact of thermaldependentleakage), energy consumption of the datacentercan be optimized by a reduction of the coolingbudget.
