Resumen de La sociedad conyugal en la frontera: El matrimonio como instrumento institucional del orden. Santa Fe (1730-1780)

La presente obra analiza el matrimonio desde la particular lógica institucional de la sociedad de Antiguo Régimen en una pequeña ciudad puerto de la frontera rioplatense. La investigación se inserta en un marco temporo/espacial que corresponde a la Santa Fe (Rio de la Plata) del siglo XVIII, entre 1730 y 1780. Nos enfocamos principalmente en el ámbito matrimonial de la elite, analizando a los involucrados, su abanico de opciones, sus motivaciones, alcances, límites, y por supuesto, los objetivos perseguidos mediante el enlace. En resumen, estableciendo al matrimonio como eje analítico, nos acercamos a la composición y evolución de diversas y fluctuantes trayectorias individuales, que estuvieron en permanente tensión con el orden institucional, para observar de qué manera la tensión en este binomio impacta en el modelo matrimonial de las elites locales, y en la composición del orden interno local.

This work analyse marriage from the particular institutional logic of the old regime society in a small port city on the River Plate border. The research is inserted in a temporal / spatial framework that corresponds to the Santa Fe (Rio de la Plata) of the 18th century, between 1730 and 1780.
We focus mainly on the marital sphere of the elite, analysing those involved, their range of options, their motivations, scope, limits, and of course, the objectives pursued through the link. In summary, establishing marriage as the analytical axis, we approach the composition and evolution of diverse and fluctuating individual trajectories, which were in permanent tension with the institutional order, to observe how the tension in this binomial impacts on the marriage model of local elites, and in the composition of the local internal order.
