  Se realiza el diagnóstico de las prestaciones energéticas y su impacto ambiental de cuatro hoteles del polo turístico Santa Lucía ubicado en la costa norte de la provincia de Camagüey y también se evalúan dos soluciones energéticas en cada una de estas instalaciones (Mayanabo, Brisas, Gran Club y Caracol). Este estudio se realiza con el objetivo de evaluar la influencia energético-ambiental del uso de las Fuentes renovables de Energía (FRE) mediante la aplicación gratuita, en línea, “e-toolkit de HES“de la Organización Mundial de Turismo de Naciones Unidas, para favorecer la implementación en el proceso inversionista del Decreto Ley 345 del 2019 (Del desarrollo de las fuentes renovables y el uso eficiente de la energía). Se utilizan los índices “Intensidad de uso de energía” (IUE) y emisiones de CO2 que permiten evaluar opciones de inversión en eficiencia energética y FRE, lo cual constituye una herramienta de apoyo a la toma de decisiones que favorezcan un turismo que desempeñe un papel clave en la agenda de implementación de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenibles 2015-2030. Se comprueba la existencia de problemas de eficiencia energética en los cuatro hoteles, siendo el Gran Club el de peor desempeño y el Brisas el que presenta el mayor impacto con las mejoras en fotovoltaica y control solar de la zona de alojamiento.

  A diagnosis is made of the energy performance and environmental impact of four hotels in the Santa Lucía tourist area located on the north coast of the province of Camagüey, and two energy solutions are also evaluated in each of these buildings (the hotels Mayanabo, Brisas, Gran Club and Caracol). This study is carried out with the aim of evaluating the energy-environmental influence of the use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) using the free online application "HES e-toolkit" of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, to support the implementation in the investment process of Decree Law 345 of 2019 (On the development of renewable sources and the efficient use of energy). The "Intensity of energy use" (IUE) and CO2 emissions indices are used to evaluate investment options in energy efficiency and FRE, which constitutes a tool to support decision-making in favour of tourism that plays a key role in the implementation agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals 2015-2030. Energy efficiency problems are found to exist in all four hotels, with the Gran Club being the worst performing and the Brisas having the greatest impact with improvements in photovoltaics and solar control in the accommodation area.
