Andorra appears, among some romantic images historically evoked, as the spiritual reservoir of the Pyrenees. The literary constitution of this ‘Andorran myth’ certainly represents an exercise towards orientalization, the Exotic within the very domain of Catalan literature (balanced in some way with other traditions such as Alpinist literature). Agustí Bartra’s latest collection of poems subsumed in sixty poems the spirit of the myth through an Oriental genre (the haiku) and phenomenology. In this note we study the literary and philosophical keys to better understand this gigantic poetic exercise that gave to Andorra one of its immortal masterpieces.
