Resumen de Nociones de patrimonio: Debates y reconfiguraciones de un concepto

El gusto por el pasado suele manifestarse a través de una tendencia a materializar lo desaparecido, lo derruido contenido, por ejemplo, en construcciones que aún muestran rasgos de un periodo anterior o en tradiciones que congregan reuniones familiares y comunitarias para hablar de otros tiempos y de cómo se practicaban antes las cosas. Una tendencia que en muchos casos se traduce por un culto del patrimonio que busca rescatar, proteger y conservar bienes y prácticas culturales. Proceso que ha venido acrecentándose desde comienzos de la década de 1980, y que ha influido en la conceptualización, así como en el debate y la reconfiguración a escala mundial de lo que se entiende por patrimonio. En el presente artículo, exploraremos la noción de patrimonio que se estructuró a lo largo del siglo XX, y hasta la fecha, a partir de documentos y debates circunscritos al ámbito de las políticas de organismos internacionales como la OIM, el ICOMOS, la Unesco y el Consejo de Europa. Un discurso estructurante que ha reconfigurado la noción de patrimonio hacia una comunidad patrimonial, concepto clave a revisar en el contexto de la ciudad de Valparaíso, Chile, y en relación al rol de la Universidad.

The taste for the past usually manifests itself through a tendency to materialize the disappeared, the demolished content, for example, in constructions that still show features of a previous period or in traditions that bring together family and community gatherings to talk about other times and how things were practiced before. A trend that in many cases translates into a heritage cultthat seeks to rescue, protect and preserve cultural assets and practices. A process that has been increasing since the early 1980s and that has influenced the conceptualization, as well as the debate and reconfiguration on a global scale of what is meant by heritage. In this article, we will explore the notion of heritage that was structured throughout the twentieth century, and to date, from documents and debates circumscribed to the scope of the policies of international organizations such as IOM, ICOMOS, UNESCO and the Council of Europe. A structuring discourse that hasreconfigured the notion of heritage towards a heritage community, a key concept to be reviewed in the context of the city of Valparaíso, Chile, and in relation to the role of the University.
