    Pasamos revista por las teorías más relevantes que han intentado explicar y encontrar la naturaleza jurídica del Proceso. Así, se explica el contexto histórico de las teorías contractualista y cuasi-contractualista, y de los aportes de las teorías de la relación jurídica y de la situación jurídica, así como la ambigüedad de la teoría de la institución, y los avances que significó la teoría del procedimiento.

    Finaliza el artículo explicando que la naturaleza jurídica del Proceso debe buscarse dentro del Proceso mismo, relacionándolo con el concepto de Tutela, y proponiendo una definición para los tiempos actuales.

    The article reviews the most important theories that have tried to explain and find the legal nature of the Process. Thus, the historical context of contractualist and quasi-contractualist theories is explained, as well as the contributions of the theories of the legal relationship and the legal situation, as well as the ambiguity of the theory of the institution, and the advances that the theory of the procedure meant.

    The article ends by explaining that the legal nature of the Process must be sought within the Process itself, relating it to the concept of Judicial Protection, and proposing a definition for current times.
