Resumen de Hitos en la agenda europea de seguridad y defensa

Durante el primer semestre el entramado institucional europeo va a presenciar cambios importantes en las áreas relacionadas con la seguridad y la defensa. La OTAN está definiendo un nuevo concepto estratégico que se desea aprobar oficialmente durante la cumbre de Madrid de 2022, en la que también se nombrará un nuevo secretario general.
Por su parte, la Unión Europea está desarrollando la denominada «brújula estratégica» que pretende proporcionar una perspectiva que propicie una cultura estratégica común.
Además, ambas organizaciones prevén emitir una nueva declaración conjunta que afiance y estreche aún más su colaboración mutua. En el presente artículo analizamos dichas iniciativas.

During the first half of the year, the European institutional framework is going to see important changes in the areas related to security and defence. NATO is defining a new strategic concept that it wants to officially approve during the 2022 Madrid summit, at which a new secretary-general will also be appointed. On the other hand, the European Union is developing the so-called 'strategic compass' which aims to provide a perspective conducive to a common strategic culture. In addition, both organizations plan to issue a new joint statement that will further strengthen their mutual collaboration. In this article we analyse these initiatives.
