    La reciente muerte de Ibrahim al Hachemí al Quraishi, el líder del Dáesh, a manos de fuerzas norteamericanas anima a repensar que amenaza supone el yihadismo hoy. Han transcurrido más de 20 años de los atentados del 11S tiempo suficiente para poder hacer una reflexión sosegada y atender las lecciones políticas y estratégicas que del caso se derivan, así como hacer una valoración de la amenaza. La fuerza que confiere al movimiento el salafismo acredita la relevancia militar que tiene para el terrorismo la solidez del relato que los sostiene. El principal éxito de Al Qaeda ha sido divulgar la palabra yihadismo. La amenaza de los lobos solitarios es escasa por lo que cabe esperar una vuelta a los grandes atentados.

    The death of Ibrahim al-Hashemite al-Quraishi, the leader of ISIS, at the hands of US forces, encourages rethinking what threat jihadism poses today. More than 20 years have passed since the 9/11 attacks. Enough time to make a calm reflection and attend to the political and strategic lessons from the case, as well as to assess the threat. The strength that Salafism proves the military relevance that the solidity of the narrative for terrorist movements. The main success of Al Qaeda has been to spread the word jihadism. The threat of lone wolves is scarce so we can expect a return to the great attacks.
