La relación entre el niño y el psicoanálisis deriva de una historia que comienza en la modernidad con el surgimiento del concepto de “niño”. Este nuevo concepto produjo repercusiones en el psicoanálisis. Recorriendo la obra freudiana advertimos que, si bien la infancia corresponde a un momento específico en el trayecto de la vida y a la vez da cuenta de una cierta temporalidad, esa misma temporalidad queda subvertida y origina una perspectiva estructural. En el concepto de infancia se entrelazan dos conceptos: desarrollo y estructura.

Childhood: time or structure? The relationship between the child and psychoanalysis derives from a history that begins in modernity with the emergence of the concept of “child.” This new concept had repercussions in psychoanalysis. A review of Freud’s work shows that, although childhood corresponds to a specific moment in the course of life and accounts for a certain temporality, this very temporality is subverted and gives rise to a structural perspective. Two concepts are intertwined in the concept of childhood: those of development and structure.
