Resumen de Reflexiones sobre el concepto de ecúmene en la roma imperial y su plasmación práctica en la constitutio antoniniana

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo abordar el significado ideológico del término ―ecúmene‖ y su plasmación práctica en el Papiro Giessen 40.I, más conocido como la Constitutio Antoniniana. Para lograr este fin es necesario realizar algunas valoraciones preceptivas sobre la génesis del término y su indisociable relación con el helenismo. Por ello, tratando de acotar el contenido, se presentan dos coyunturas históricas que pueden servir a modo de instantáneas. La primera de ellas se circunscribe a la producción literaria durante los años iniciales de la dinastía JulioClaudia; la segunda corresponde al florecimiento de la Segunda Sofística durante el siglo II d. C., concediendo el protagonismo a la figura de Elio Arístides y su famoso Discurso a Roma. Finalmente, se aborda la significación del término en el edicto de ciudadanía así como una reflexión de su impacto en el orbe romano.

The present article aims to address the ideological meaning of the term "ecumenical" and its practical expression in the Giessen Papyrus 40. I. In order to achieve this goal it is necessary to make some prescriptive assessments about the genesis of the term and its inseparable relationship with Hellenism. For this reason, in an attempt to limit the content, it has been chosen two historical junctures as a snapshot. The first is limited to literary production during the beginnings of the JuliusClaudian dynasty; the second corresponds to the flourishing of the Second Sophistic during the second century AD, giving prominence to the figure of Elio Aristides and his famous Discourse to Rome. Finally, the meaning of the term will be adressed in the edict of citizenship together with a reflection of its impact on the Roman orb.
