    La avenida Revolución en la ciudad fronteriza de Tijuana, al fungir como vía de acceso para el visitante norteamericano desde principios del s. XX, ha generado un paisaje cultural que, a pesar de sus transformaciones, sigue dando cuenta de una marcada vocación turística. El objetivo del estudio es identificar el surgimiento, cambios y continuidad de las actividades turísticas en la avenida Revolución, así como la lectura de estos datos en cuanto a la dimensión simbólica y funcional urbana y la incidencia de la vocación turística sobre el paisaje cultural. Los hallazgos generales del estudio refieren a la escenificación funcional del espacio urbano en la continuidad del tiempo con relación a los visitantes y el turismo. La investigación con enfoque histórico- documental y etnográfico aparece como camino para la explicación de aspectos concernientes al carácter del paisaje cultural

    Revolution Avenue in the border city of Tijuana, serving as an access route for the North American visitor since the beginning of the XX century, has generated a cultural landscape that, despite its transformations, continues to account for a marked tourist vocation. The aim of the study is to identify the emergence, changes and continuity of tourist activities on Revolution Avenue, as well as the reading of these data in terms of the urban symbolic and functional dimension and the incidence of the tourist vocation on the cultural landscape. The general findings of the study refer to the functional staging of urban space in the continuity of time in relation to visitors and tourism. Research with a historicaldocumentary and ethnographic approach appears as a way to explain aspects concerning the character of the cultural landscape.
