    La traducción que presentamos a continuación corresponde a la recensión que Maurice Merleau-Ponty escribe a propósito de L’Imagination, obra de Jean-Paul Sartre publicada en 1936. Esta recensión fue publicada en el número XXXIII de la prestigiosa Journal de Psychologie normale et pathologique, e incluida en el texto póstumo de Merleau-Ponty, Parcours: 1935-1951, publicado el año 1997 por la editorial parisina Verdier. Allí aparece bajo el nombre de «Compte-rendu de L’imagination de J. P. Sartre». El valor de este breve escrito radica en que Merleau-Ponty no sólo presenta una síntesis detallada de los principales problemas que aborda Sartre en torno a la imagen y la percepción, sino que ofrece un punto de distanciamiento con la perspectiva fenomenológica sartreana, que le permitirá sobrevolar, a lo largo de toda su trayectoria filosófica, la fenomenología genética husserliana.

    The following translation corresponds to the review that Maurice Merleau-Ponty wrote about L'Imagination, a work by Jean-Paul Sartre published in 1936. This review was published in the XXXIII edition of the prestigious Journal de Psychologie normale et pathologique, and included in Merleau-Ponty's posthumous text Parcours: 1935-1951, published in 1997 by the Parisian editorial Verdier. There it appears under the name «Compte-rendu de L'imagination de J. P. Sartre». The value of this brief review consists in the fact that Merleau-Ponty not only presents a detailed synthesis of the main Sartrean's problems concerning the image and perception, but also offers a point of distance from Sartre's phenomenological perspective, which will allow him to fly over Husserlian genetic phenomenology throughout his philosophical trajectory.
