    El pequeño trabajo que aporto al Congreso Internacional del Franciscanismo haciaAmérica y Oriente está compuesto de dos breves estudios: Uno sobre el Convento de S. Rafaelen California y otro sobre algunos de los frailes franciscanos que estuvieron en Filipinas. Enel primero expongo, la vida, vicisitudes y avatares que ocurrieron en este cenobio desde sufundación hasta su desaparición y la situación en el que hoy se encuentra. La relación de losfrailes Franciscanos que estuvieron en Filipinas la he tomado de una Crónica latina inéditadel siglo XVIII que he traducido al español y en la que el autor narra la historia de todoslos conventos franciscanos descalzos de la Provincia de S. Pedro de Alcántara en Andalucía.Además he llevado a cabo otras indagaciones que me han proporcionado poder hablar de otrosfranciscanos que estuvieron en Filipinas.

    My modest contribution to the ‘International Congress of the Franciscanismtowards America and the East’ consists of two short studies: one deals with the Convent ofSan Rafael in California and the other focuses on a number of Franciscan friars who workedin the Philippines. In the former, I will explain the life, trials and tribulations which took placein this monastery from its foundation until its disappearance, as well as its current situation.I have taken information about the lives of the Franciscan friars who were in the Philippinesfrom an unpublished 18th century Latin Chronicle which I have translated into Spanish. Here,the author recounts the history of all the Franciscan barefoot convents in the Province of SanPedro de Alcantara in Andalusia. I have also carried out other inquiries which have enabled meto include other Franciscans who lived in the Philippines.
