  El estudio de la sexualidad humana y la construcción de género, exige establecer las cualidades esenciales del individuo, pues resulta imprescindible considerar que el hombre y la mujer son, en esencia, seres sociales.

  Precisamente por ser no solo un hecho biológico, sino también social, es que la educación para la sexualidad y género no puede ser un hecho aislado del resto de la educación general. La carencia de información en materia de sexualidad y género propicia y ha perpetuado graves y serios problemas tanto en el ámbito de la salud personal como social. La Educación para la sexualidad no debe ser una asignatura o actividad aislada y desarticulada, no debe limitarse solo a una información sexual, sino armonizarse junto a todas las asignaturas que conforman el plan curricular de los diferentes programas educa- tivos y niveles de atención escolar. La información en el ámbito de la sexualidad, lamentablemente, está basada en mitos, falacias y temores, eminentemente prejuiciada, reforzadora de roles sexuales estereotipados y sobre todo, considerada todavía como un tema tabú que suscita temores y recelos.

  Educar hacia la libertad y la responsabilidad mediante una educación para la sexualidad, descriptiva, cientí- fica, incluyente, no valorativa, que desmitifique y que promueva una nueva actitud ante la sexualidad y el género, que permita y privilegie el respeto y la tolerancia a partir de la información.

  The study of human sexuality and the construction of gender, requires that the essential qualities of the individual, it is essential to consider that the men and women are, in essence, social beings. Precisely because it is not only a biological fact, but also social, is that the education for sexuality and gender cannot be isolated from the rest of the general education. The lack of in- formation in the field of sexuality and gender conducive and has perpetuated grave and serious problems both in the area of the personal health and social.

  The Education for the sexuality should not be a subject or isolated and disjointed, should not be limited only to sexual information, but harmonized next to all subjects that make up the curriculum plan of the various educa- tional programs and levels of school attention.

  The information in the field of sexuality, unfortunately, this based on myths, falsehoods and fears, eminently biased, reinforcing of sexual roles stereotyped and above all, still regarded as a taboo that raises fears and suspicions.

  Edúcate toward freedom and responsibility through education for the sexuality; descriptive, scientific, inclusive, not valorative, that desmitifique and to pro- mote a new attitude to the sexuality and gender, which permits and favors the respect and tolerance from the information.
