  • Prior to a publication in a journal, the peer-reviewprocess consists of subjecting a scientific, academic orprofessionalworktoevaluationbyexpertswithinthesamefield, in order to determine if the work meets the journalstandards. Due to the large amount of articles received,thetimeframe,andthespecialtyofthesubject,theeditorsof the journals do not have the capacity to review all themanuscripts. Therefore, experts within a subject domainare required in the evaluation of manuscripts beforethe final decision for accepting or rejecting an article.Under these circumstances, reviewers independentlyand critically evaluate texts written by other scientists orexperts working on the same topic or area.
