Resumen de ¿Existe Sherlock Holmes?

A pesar de su indudable amplitud temática, Frege nunca le otorgó una gran importancia a objetos ficticios tales como Sherlock Holmes. Este trabajo comienza por realizar una somera presentación del corpus teórico de la filosofía del lenguaje fregeana. Posteriormente, analiza el modo en que, en sus distintos escritos, el matemático y filósofo alemán procuró integrar el discurso en contextos de ficción en su filosofía. Finalmente, considerando en buena medida el trabajo de Terence Parsons, se esbozan someramente distintas problemáticas vinculadas con este intento de integración.

Despite their undoubted thematic breadth, Frege never gave great importance to fictional objects such as Sherlock Holmes. This work begins by making a brief presentation of the theoretical corpus of Fregean philosophy of language. Later, it analyzes the way in which, in his various works, the German mathematician and philosopher attempted to integrate the discourse of fictional contexts into his philosophy. Finally, considering in a large extent the work of Terence Parsons, different problems related to this attempt are briefly outlined.
