Derecho a la educación y enseñanza de sordos

    Las enseñanzas de sordomudos/sordos/con discapacidad auditiva en España forman parte del sistema educativo desde el Reglamento General de Instrucción Pública de 1821, de fugaz vigencia. Aparecerán de nuevo en la ordenación de enseñanzas de la Ley de Instrucción Pública de 1857 y hasta mediados de 1960 el derecho de las personas sordas a la educación se regulará por disposiciones administrativas y reglamentos del Colegio de Sordomudos de Madrid, y desde éstos se regulará el resto de la red especial. A finales del siglo XX, el referido derecho se verá reforzado por el proceso de integración en centros ordinarios y por el reconocimiento, ley de 2007, del derecho a utilizar los medios orales y de lengua de signos para el acceso a los curriculum.

    Las políticas educativas de las enseñanzas de sordomudos presentan similitudes con las generales, pero también una fuerte especificidad, y en este contexto, surge una cuestión: ¿el alumnado sordo en qué grado ha alcanzado el Derecho a la Educación?

    The teachings of the deaf-mute/deaf/hearing impaired in Spain are part of the educational sys-tem since the General Regulation of Public Instruction of 1821, of fleeting validity. They will appear again in the regulation of teachings of the Law of Public Instruction of 1857 and until mid-960 the right of deaf people to education will be regulated by administrative provisions and regulations of the College of Deaf Mutes of Madrid, and from these the rest of the special network will be regulated. At the end of the 20th century, this right will be reinforced by the process of integration in ordinary centers and by the recognition, by law of 2007, of the right to use oral means and sign language for the access to the curricula.Educational policies for deaf-mute training have similarities with the general ones but also a strong specificity, and in this context, a question appears: to what extent have deaf students achieved the Right to Education?
