Resumen de Notas sobre clausura, Identidad y Frontera en las legislaciones medievales de la Orden de Santa Clara

Redactadas con la intención de crear expectativas conductuales para sus audiencias, las reglas y constituciones de las monjas clarisas modelan, a través de sus descripciones de las estancias conventuales, una serie de imágenes de clausura pensada. Estas resultarían, como la historiografía especializada ha demostrado, de particular interés para escribir la historia cultural de los espacios femeninos en la Edad Media europea. Al respecto, se esbozan aquí algunas particularidades relativas a la definición material, icónica y funcional que se realiza, en la tradición legislativa de la Orden de Santa Clara, de las puertas de entrada al entorno conventual como umbrales de la clausura. Ellos serán imbuidos y considerados a partir de los significados culturales que se le otorga a la frontera en los contextos de creación y recepción de estas reglas.

Designed with the intention of creating behavioral expectations for their audiences, the rules and constitutions of the sores encerradas shape, through their descriptions of the conventual spaces, a set of images of thoughtful enclosure. These would prove, as specialized historiography has established, to be of particular interest for writing the cultural history of feminine spaces in the European Middle Ages. In this regard, here we will outline some particularities related to the material, iconic and functional definition, in the legislative tradition of the Order of St. Clare, of the entrance doors to the conventual environment as thresholds of the enclosure. Thus embedded and considered through the cultural meanings given to the border in the contexts of creation and reception of these rules.
