    El artículo se pregunta por la historia del Estado Chileno y su relación con el territorio marítimo desde la microhistoria. Se estudian los con flictos medioambientales entre la expansión estatal sobre el territorio marítimo y los habitantes locales (pescadores artesanales), poniendo énfasis en el proceso burocratización de la naturaleza mediante cercamientos de los mares y vedas de peces y mariscos a inicios del siglo XX. El centro de nuestra propuesta es analizar las disputas por el mar que surgen con la Ley N° 1.949 del Estado de Chile que promovía la privatización del mar. Los pescadores artesanales dotados de las protecciones del Código Civil de 1856 que garantizaba la pesca como un bien común, lucharon usando distintas técnicas jurídicas, sociales y políticas en distintos niveles desde lo local a lo nacional para sobrevivir hasta nuestros días. Al analizar el inicio de estas disputas presentes hasta la actualidad, aportamos en entender la continuidad de las dinámicas históricas de privatización de lo común.

    We analyze the history of the Chilean State and its relationship with the maritime territory from microhistory approach. We study the socio-environmental conflicts between the state expansion over the maritime territory and artisanal fishermenm, emphasizing the process of bureaucratization of nature through enclosures and closures at the beginning of the 20th century. Ourproposal is to explore the disputes that arise with Law No. 1,949 of the State of Chile that promoted the privatization of the sea. The artisanal fishermen endowed with the protections of the Civil Code fought using different legal, social and political techniques at different levels from the local to the national to survive to this day.
