Breve ensayo sobre las antropotecnias y la complejidad para definir al ser humano

    Este artículo se centra en describir la problemática acerca de si los humanos deben seguir atrapados en una ciega evolución biológica o bien ellos deben pasar a elegir qué desean asumir. Ante tal disyuntiva se recuerdan la hipótesis optimista (lograr un transhumanismo) y la hipótesis pesimista (la degeneración de lo humano). Al parecer, la especie humana, como el resto de las especies vivas, ha surgido en un proceso de evolución; es la única con capacidad de ser consciente de ello y, en parte, ha sido capaz, mediante las técnicas, de poder adaptarse y de planificar en parte su futuro. Las biotecnologías están utilizándose cada vez más para el mejoramiento y perfeccionamiento de lo humano, convirtiéndose de ese modo en antropotecnias. Así, al orientarse estas nuevas tecnologías hacia y sobre su autor, el ser humano puede también convertirse en un peligro para él mismo. Los «transhumanistas » estiman, sin embargo, que los humanos deben arrebatar su destino biológico al proceso ciego de la evolución de la variación aleatoria y la adaptación, y pasar a la siguiente etapa como especie: la elección de nuestro ser. En la conclusión se patentizan las implicancias y consecuencias del hecho de ser humano y racional.

    This article focuses on describing the problematic about whether humans should remain trapped in a blind biological evolution, or they must move on to choose what they want to assume. Faced with this dilemma, the optimistic hypothesis (achieving a transhumanism) and the pessimistic hypothesis (the degeneration of the human) are remembered. Apparently, the human species, like the rest of the living species, has arisen in a process of evolution; it is the only one with the capacity to be aware of this and, in part, it has been able, by means of techniques, to be able to adapt and to plan part of its future. Biotechnologies are increasingly used for the improvement and perfection of the human, thus becoming anthropotechnics. So, by orienting itself to new technologies towards and over its author, the human being can also become a danger to himself. The «transhumanists» estimate, however, that humans must wrest their biological destiny from the blind process of the evolution of random variation and adaptation and move on to the next stage as a species: the choice of our being. In the conclusion, the implications and consequences of being human and rational are evident.
