    La arquitectura del gótico meridional (XIV-XV) se caracteriza por sus cubiertas planas; los problemas constructivos del sistema primigenio y las prerrogativas del Concilio de Trento (1545-1563) provocaron reformas en este modelo, que recuperó, a finales del siglo XX, su proporción inicial. Con el paso del tiempo, estas autorías silenciadas y superpuestas han respondido a los criterios de representatividad de la imagen de la Iglesia, de aspectos litúrgicos, de soluciones técnicas y de adaptación sostenible, hasta la inclusión de los valores patrimoniales del Documento de Nara en Autenticidad. Las cubiertas góticas de la catedral de Tortosa evidencian este proceso de construcción, deconstrucción y reconstrucción de la imagen de estos edificios.

    Southern Gothic architecture (XIV-XV) is characterized by its flat roofs; the constructive problems of the original system and the prerogatives of the Council of Trent (1545-1563) caused reforms in this model, which recovered its initial proportion at the end of the 20th century. Over time, these silenced and overlapping authorships have responded to the criteria of representativeness of the image of the Church, liturgical aspects, technical solutions and sustainable adaptation, up to the inclusion of the heritage values of the Nara Document in Authenticity. The Gothic roofs of the cathedral of Tortosa show this process of construction, deconstruction and reconstruction of the image of these buildings.
